31 March 2017 – perpetual licence upgrade now or move to subscription?
You have less than a week to upgrade your Sage 50 licence and save up to 300% on subscription costs. From 31 March 2017, it will not be possible to buy (or upgrade) Sage 50 accounts software on a perpetual basis.
If you want to upgrade your software’s perpetual licence, then you must act quickly. The deadline is Friday 31st March!
For businesses that use their Sage 50 software for many years without upgrading, you should strongly consider upgrading to Sage 50 2017 as this will be the last time you can upgrade your software on a perpetual basis.
After 31 March 2017, all Sage 50 products will only be available on the new Sage subscription model.
What is Sage’s subscription model?
Sage have been moving towards a subscription only sales model for some time and the decision was made in mid-January to move Sage 50 and Sage 50c to the subscription only sales model. This requires a monthly or annual subscription fee to be paid ongoing to allow you to use the software – when you stop paying, the software will stop working.
There are some benefits, not least the assurances of using the latest version of the software and some additional licensing features, plus the guarantee that the software is fully supportable, however once you are on subscription, there are no options to return to perpetual licensing.
The new licensing model also adds to the confusing array of upgrade options currently available – HWT can help you navigate through the options open to you.
