iOS 9 has been launched and has already had an update to 9.0.1. This is to resolve some bugs noted on the initial release and a specific issue with an upgrade loop.
If you have updated your iPhone or iPad here are a few tips and tricks to make life a little easier…
Wi-Fi assist is a nice new feature for when you’re browsing the net. The function basically switches your device between Wi-Fi and mobile data if your Wi-Fi signal is poor. You can turn on or off via Settings, Mobile Data and scroll to the bottom of that menu to toggle on or off.
You can now save a website directly from Safari to a PDF that is stored in iBooks. Simply open the website you want to view offline, tap the Share icon in the middle of the bottom toolbar and select save PDF to iBooks.
If you are like us at HW Technology this is a key feature to make life easier! Luckily iOS 9 has a set of new features that can help if you are using Apples native mail client.
You can now quickly delete unwanted messages from your inbox. Open the mail app and select Inbox (this doesn’t work in the smart unread view) and select Edit, this will now reveal a Delete all option, this will trash everything.
You can now also quickly access your drafts. Simply tap and hold the Compose icon (small pen on paper) bottom right and this will show you any drafts you currently have.
Quickly disconnect an item from Bluetooth
Before this feature was added, the only way to disconnect a Bluetooth device from an iPhone / iPad was turning Bluetooth off entirely, or forgetting the device. Now you can disconnect just the device you want by going to Settings, Bluetooth and tapping the icon next to the device (i). Just tap Disconnect and only that device is disconnected.
